Watercolor on Paper 18.5" x 29.5" x 2" $795.00 USD Sold
This is professionally-framed within my favorite double-thick single mat under an elegant Western-style molding and museum-grade acrylic that will not shatter in shipping.
I painted Road to Abiquiu from a photo I took along this lone ribbon of highway, driving from Santa Fe many years ago. The neutral valleys increase in elevation to the road and the high, majestic cliffs. Someone said I should've painted cattle in the road, as there really was a cattle crossing sign on the right. I chose to leave that out because my focus was the stark difference between worn asphalt and the perennially earthy richness of steep cliffs and mesas here.
