Arizona in December

This first week of December 2024 has provided a painter's outdoor paradise. I painted this watercolor at the top of a hill overlooking the Veterans Oasis Park in Chandler, Arizona alongside my artist friend, Linda, who works in oils and pastel.

Never having been up on that hill before, I was in awe of this unobstructed southward view of the Santan Mountains. I stayed close to the natural color palette, as our winters here have a more subtle warm glow in the foliage, with cottonwoods beyond.
